Róisín McCarney is an alt-pop sensation known for her infectious energy, raw authenticity, and electrifying live performances. Based in Glasgow and deeply rooted in her Scottish and Irish heritage, her music reflects resilience, emotionally honest songwriting and powerful vocal delivery - but with her latest release ‘Diva’ she steps into a bold new era.
The buzz around Róisín grew after her successful standout performance on The Voice season 14 with the Sunday Mail calling her a ‘Scottish Gwen Stefani crossed with Blondie’. Followed by sold out shows at the iconic King Tuts, supporting major artist such as Jess Glynne and television performances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Róisín is a major force from Scotland and is set for a huge future.
Now a two- time cancer survivor and with coming to the end of her treatment journey - Róisín’s finally ready to share the last 2 years of her life through the power of pop music. Channeling her own personal grief into into anthems of resilience and empowerment she’s back with not only a new single but a whole new sound.
‘Diva’ is an electro-pop empowerment anthem about self belief, resilience and owning who you are without apology. After everything she’s faced personally, this release feels deeply intentional. Its her reclaiming confidence, strength and joy.
This project has been brought to life visually through a collaboration with drag queens, who feature throughout the music video and artwork as both mentors and symbols of transformation Their presence adds another layer of meaning, a celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture, self expression and chosen family.
